First effort
First real test of Google's Blogger
We've become impatient with WordPress's composition requirements [Verdana, normal size, Paragraph] and thought to try Google Blogger.
It looks very straightforward.
To get and put an illustration, put the cursor where you want the image, click on the three dots to the right of the formatting bar. Click on Insert image, Upload from computer, Choose files, highlight file name, Open, Select. Once the image is on the page, right click on it to bring up a menu for centering, sizing, adding a caption and the like.

To place two or more illus. in a row, copy this program for a table. Adding boxes can be by simply pressing Enter (to avoid adding boxes when editing captions, press Shift+Enter for a second line). If that doesn't work try Ctrl+Enter. Leave some text in the box to delete or replace late. Put the cursor where you'd like the text (above (after the text) or below (before) the text) in the appropriate box and add the image.
There's a paragraph in them for free floating captions should you prefer them.

Titles and dates are a bit tricky.
ReplyDeleteToo soon to say definitely, but it looks promising.
